Compulsory Government Service by Obama Administration

According to Dear Leader's website, Americans will be required to donate 50 to 100 hours to government service. Other socialist and totalitarian countries have compulsory government service, why not us? Sure, right now Dear Leader only wants you to donate 50-100 hours per year to Him, but surely it won't be long before it is per month or per week.

If you're already working 40+ hours per week at a paying job, don't worry. Dear Leader will punish the evil rich people giving you that job so you'll soon have lots of time to donate to the government.

I wonder if one will be able to get one's 50-100 hours out of the way right away, like community service for minor crimes and celebrities, or if you will be required to stretch it out over an entire year. But still, 50-100 hours of free labor times 305 million Americans (according to the Census Bureau) is a lot of free labor!

I wonder if the compulsory government service will apply to illegal resident aliens or just [legal] citizens?

On the other hand, this is a great idea for all the unemployed people living off the taxpayers. All those people collecting welfare, getting free health care, getting free [section 8] housing, getting free food (food stamps), who spend the workday watching daytime television or loitering on street corners, those people should be subject to compulsory government service. Either get a paying job or "volunteer" for government service to collect your welfare check. That would surely reduce the crime rate. Having welfare recipients pick up trash, dig ditches, clean up New Orleans, help in government schools, etc., will keep them occupied instead of doing drugs and committing crimes. And by working in government schools they will be a lesson to the kids to get an education and get a job else you'll be working here for the government for a welfare check.
