Stupid Criminal of the Day

A scumbag pedophile who fled to Canada when he was indicted used his American Express card to pay for a hotel room.  AmEx did the right thing and alerted authorities.  The scumbag pedophile was arrested, extradited, and spent a measly 19 months in prison.

The sleazebag pedophile is suing AmEx for invading his privacy by reporting him to authorities.  He claims that he had not run from the law.  He only went to Canada for some harness races.

In his suit, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Colliton says Canadian authorities would never have "falsely arrested" or "unlawfully detained" him on immigration charges if American Express hadn't revealed when and where he had used his credit card.

 

I hope the judge throws out the case and has the scumbag pedophile pay everyone's legal and court fees.  As The Consumerist says, "We're not lawyers, but we're pretty sure convicted felons lose their right to moral indignation or the right to vote or something."

 

The moral of the story, if you are a fugitive from the law, don't use American Express.  Use UBS, or one of those Luxemburg or Swiss bank cards that hide depositor's legitimate assets from government taxation.
